New Engine Knocks
I've had the new 300 in my truck for about 2 weeks now. For some reason, now on startup it has a loud distinct clack or knock that quiets down after a few seconds of running. The only thing i can think of is that the mains are trash (which they weren't before install, i checked and spec'd em.) Or the lifters are failing to stay pumped up...
I'm hoping its the latter rather than the former...as i just might seek a replacement of the big block variety.

Apparently I got the "knock" problem fixed. I guess i didn't tighten the rocker arms down properly and a couple of them were loose. I tightened those and lo-and behold the sound went away.
Now just to get the carb to quit whistling when the engine warms up.
