Ill try to break it down by step. If I forgot anything, just add in another bullet or whatever

Just to be clear the part of the door closest to the hood is the 'hinge side'
•Roll Up the Window
•remove black plastic piece that covers the bolts for the mirrors (just kind of grab and roll it off. It just has like 2 clips)
•remove the panel with all the switches on it (pull up at the front of it (hinge side) and it will release. There is a tab at the other end)
•Disconnect the wires for the switches
•Remove the courtesy light cover using a screw driver
•remove the 2 black bolts that hold on the door panel (one by the switches and one behind the courtesy light cover)
•Pull straight up on the door panel until the little plastic hooks disengage. (DO NOT PULL DOOR AWAY YET)
•from the backside of the door panel, grab and twist the courtesy light out of the door panel (watch out, its hot)
•Remove an disconnect the speaker (the connectors for the mirrors are hiding just above and toward the hinge side of the door of the speaker opening
•Disconnect the mirror connectors
•Peel back the grey sticky foam sheet at to top where the black plastic piece was (this will expose some more bolts that hold the mirror on)
•With a buddy (or a clamp) remove the bolts that hold on the mirror and slowly pull it off and feed the wire bundle out through the little hole in the door
•(at this point hopefully your new mirror connectors will match up with the ones in the door. If you have a round white one and a smaller black one in your door, then you will need to do some splicing to get them to mate with the grey one on the mirrors. If not, don't worry about it)
installation is reverse

Hope I didn't leaeve anything out, its been a while since I did mine, chime in if i did

Good Luck,
Isaac

Sweet, I might post some questions before I do it just to be sure but thanks a lot, I really appreciate it.

Looking forward to the new mirrors and NO, there's no way in hell I could do this without tearing something up so I'm glad he'll do it or help or whatever

I'll keep you guys posted but I'm sure I'll post before then.

Anyone that has done this that can let me have a phone number in case we run into trouble? If so, please pm me.

Thanks again

George

A few quick questions and this is before i've even looked at the truck but I just want to make sure to myself that I even have an idea of what I'm doing. Tiny is mechanically inclined but not sure how good he is with reading instructions and I such at both

•remove black plastic piece that covers the bolts for the mirrors (just kind of grab and roll it off. It just has like 2 clips)

Is this on the inside?

•remove the panel with all the switches on it (pull up at the front of it (hinge side) and it will release. There is a tab at the other end)

Is this the controls on the door for windows and such?

•Disconnect the wires for the switches
•Remove the courtesy light cover using a screw driver

Which light is this?

•Peel back the grey sticky foam sheet at to top where the black plastic piece was (this will expose some more bolts that hold the mirror on)

NO drilling necessary, right?

•(at this point hopefully your new mirror connectors will match up with the ones in the door. If you have a round white one and a smaller black one in your door, then you will need to do some splicing to get them to mate with the grey one on the mirrors. If not, don't worry about it) installation is reverse

Should wires be the same colors and will the colors match in case I have to connect manually?

By the way, I just went outside and looked and I can tell you that I have NO idea what's going on but hopefully Tiny (my buddy) can figure it out.

Wonder how much the dealer would charge to do it if I had to?

Thanks

George

Ok, I numbered your questions to keep it simple lol

1)yes, this is the black piece just to the hinge side of the window. It looks kind of like a sail. Just kind of pull or roll it off.

2)Yes, its the panel with the window switches/locks/mirror stuff. Just pull at the more pointed end (hinge side) Then disconnect the little connectors

3)its the little courtesy light at the bottom (it lights up the clear and red plastic thing at the bottom of the front doors

4)nope, no drilling just pull back the grey sheet

5)yes All the colors are the same. All I remember off the top of my head lol is that black is heat, but its a no-brainer

By the way, I'm not particularly technically inclined, so if you have a good set of sockets, and can follow instructions (like i did the first time haha) its easy

Also, these sites may help

Hi there. I need some help. The Excursion was backing up today and a brick pillar jumped out and busted the right turn signal lens on the RH towing mirror! Go figure!

Well anyway I can get the replacement mirror cover with the amber lens from the Ford dealer for about $113.00 but how do I replace the mirror cover? Any help is appreciated. Thanks.

I don't know how to replace the cover, but if its only the amber lens thats broken, you can just replace that and not the whole cover for a lot cheaper. Either way, sorry for the hassles. My mom did the same thing backing out of Sonic in our old Suburban lol, but she lost the glass too...

Hello,
I removed my stock mirrors and added tow mirrors. Very easy to do. Directions came with the mirrors. Just like what is in your thread. No sweat

Is it possible to remove the cover of the mirror without removing the entire mirror assembly from the truck? I think the glass mirror will pop out if pulled. Has anyone done that? I tried to buy only the amber signal lens but Ford only sells it attached to a new cover.

Unless you have already bought the whole covers and can't return them, I'd say go aftermarket and save some $$.

Several companies sell just the lenses. Here's a link - 2 for like $99 MSRP (I bet you can get 'en cheaper if you look)

Isaac, Thanks for the website info. Im going to buy the smoked lenses. Did you checkout the video of the white F250? Little bit over the top but had some cool accessories. I liked the lights in the hood scoops.

yup no problem. make sure you look around for the best price too. I wouldn't buy from them if you can get it cheaper.

here they are on amazon for $78 + free shipping. I just googled it really fast, but I bet you could do even better than that

check dfuser.com too I think they are a supporter and they say that they'll match prices

good choice! I like the smoked too (but my older truck doesn't have the lights haha)
