Jo,
Thanks for the help.I know the 352 was the only truck FE in 66 but the people i bought it from claim it's a 390.I dont believe that.I think it's the orgininal 352.I have the miles documented on the truck at 109,400.
Also, those numbers i gave were on a tag under dip stick tube mounting bolt.
Somebody on a recent FE thread on here said that tag was a way to find out c.i..I might have to pull the heads anyway.I am having no luck getting the exhaust manifold bolts loose!I have a bad leak.I have cleaned out th open end on heads and have been spraying a good shot of PBBlaster in all the holes.
Jason, It is pretty easy to tell a 352 & a 390 apart. I got a 12" piece of 14 ga. house wire, and pulled the white wire out of the sleeve. I removed a front sparkplug and placed the wire in the hole. With a pencil resting on the engine and the lead on the wire jacket, have the engine turned over with a 1/2 ratchet and socket, slowly do a total up and down trip and then measure the length of the mark on the wire. about 3 1/2" 352 about 3 13/16" 390.
Get your pencil out and report back.

In the cool still quiet of night you can hear chevies rusting away.
Thanks guys.Oh yeah!,StockMans dowel rod trick.yeah i have been wanting to try that on another FE i got,so i assume the difference is the stroke(give or take a few tenths)
Jason the one in my red truck has no splits, but the underside of the cab is so rotton, it's not worth saving. I'll save the 390, Cruse-O-Matic, and 3.00 rear though
BTW, I tried the dowel but found it to be too thick, and where is that boy anyway? I may go hunt him like a snake after Carlisle this weekend. You recon this redneck can find him up in NY?
