trim in rubber for windshield.

Anybody got any sure fire ways to get the rubber in the trim for my windsheild?I got it all in and it took 2hrs then when we were dickerin' tryin to rope it in the top popped off!ANd that was it for today!
We have never done the trim before. We put it on like we were told.Put the rubber on the windsheild first, used silicome spray to help.Without that it never would have went but it bit us back in the end and made the trim get slippery.
I dont normally give up on anything but am ready to farm this one out!!!!!!!Any help would be cool or story of your own on this.
I roped the reat window (without trim, slider)in in 10min!
Thanks for any help

trim in rubber for windshield.

blue, I had mine put in. The guys put the rubber on the glass without spray, added the trim, used a 3/16 window lift rope (started at the top center, and came back around)

The two guys set the window in place and passed the rope inside to the other. He started pulling on the rope while the other was pushing inward. They really made it look like a piece of cake.

You sound like what happens to me when I try something like that.

Yeah Jo it was fun.So you are saying they roped in the trim also?
We thought about that but didn't have any rope small enough. My freind who helped works at a auto shop and he said the silicome they use evaporates fairly quick.Used for this.I had wally world stuff that stayed slimy.Mistake number one i guess.

They didn't rope in the trim. On the 66 it has a J looking end, and requires it to be installed prior to the glass being installed. The guys set the glass on a table, put the rubber on it, the trim in the slot, and then the rope and install.
