Just got an 03 F-250 crew cab lariet 100 yr anniversary with 14K miles. There seems to be a rattle coming from the passenger back door or possibly the seat belt reel pocket between the front and back seats. Any experiences with this? Before I go and get inner door panels removed I would like to know what I am looking for.
Are you sure it's a "rattle"? My '04 crew cab doors squeak against the weatherstrips and you'd swear it was a rattle, but it's not. Unfortunately, I haven't found the right "mystery goop" to make it stop.
I had the exact same sound. Took it to dealer and they did nothing. Told me it was my shell. It drove me nuts. Turned out to be the door latch. Just applied a little grease and has been gone for 2 years now.
Thanks for the input. Where did you apply the grease? I swear it sounds like an electrical cable or something bouncing off the inside of the door. I can open the door and shake it and hear nothing. Drive it 10 feet and it bumps/rattles.
I have/had a similar noise which was more of a squeak than a rattle coming from that passenger side rear are too. I also shot some WD-40 into the locking mechanism and even into the weatherstripping in the rear window. It seems to squeal less now. Next I will try some liquid silicone spray on all of the weatherstripping in case it is the door rubbing against the rubber.

It might be the seat belts slapping against the seats or the panels. I have seen this happen myself with the windows opened. Try securing them and go out for a drive and see if the noise is still there.
I applied the gread the the black latch on the door jam and into the latch on the door.
Mine sounded exactly like something was rattling inside the door or in the panel where the seat belt is. The grease took the noise away instantly
I had/have the same issue with my '03 250 Crew Cab long bed. It took the dealer multiple attempts to even make an adjustment. They finally 'tightened' the rear doors "as much as they could". I was told the noise was the design of the vehicle. They said the issue was more with body roll. Since the 'tightening' I only hear the rattle when the sound level in the cab is quiet however the weather seal on the door between the front door rubs against the door frame. It will be interesting to see if I have the same issue when I get my '07.
05 SD V10 reg cab I have a rattle in the passenger seat if you tip it foreward and back to the normal position. My truck with no passenger the seat will rattle I tipped mine back one more notch and it puts more tension on the spring that tips the seat foreward that was a rattle in my truck check it out it took me a bit to find it. Try that in your truck that could be the problem.
