Question Window rattle update

Awhile back I posted about a rattle in my door.Well,I found the problem but need advice on how to fix it.I stuck my hand inside the upper door, above the door lock, backside of the door. The channel is where the rattle is coming from.I grabbed it and let it go;it rattled.I twisted, let it go;it rattled. Is this piece suppose to be solid all the way up the glass or midway, where it rattles?

It is a separate piece from about 4 inches below the window opening. The seal is one piece but the channel is a second part. It locks into place with a large spring clip on the back side of it. Ive see the lower mount broken off on them, but your problem may just be that the clip isnt locked into the slot on the upper section, or someone has pulled it back to replace a lock actuator or something else and when they reinstalled it they didnt get it inserted back correctly. If you pull it out without care you can bend the spring clip excessively and cause it not to securely hold the lower section to the upper section too. Reach up there with your hand and feel for the spring clip and ensure that the clip is on the back side of the upper piece and both sections are locked together snugly and that the lower bolt is tight and the lower bracket isnt broken.

Homer, thanx for the advice but I cant get my hand past or above the inside of the door handle,or at the 90* bend inside the door, near the lock mechanism. When I make the channel rattle with the door open,I can hear it about midway up the door interior, like rite behind where that long piece of moulding goes. When I shut the door I can hear it rattle near the door lock and the outside handle area. If I undo that bracket, down low inside the door that holds the channel, will it fall? Is there a bolt on the channel too,or just on the door bracket? Can you or Racerguy post any pics?

I dont have any pics handy. There is only one bolt to the bracket that is spot welded to the run channel. the upper part is held in place by the spring clip and the two parts upper and lower slide together in an interlocking fashion. It wont fall if you take out the bolt because the one piece felt run is holding the two pieces together. If you were to pull the felt off it would come out. If you can shine a flash light in there you should be able to see the clip and where it slides into the upper channel. You get more room for your hand by taking the two nuts from the window regulator guide plate that is mounted over the larger opening sliding it out of its mounting holes and then sliding the guide braket out of your way. I know its no easy chore to work inside that door but it is manageable. Look also for linkages that may have come loose from the latch or loose wiring loom connectors and the like that may be flopping around too. But from your description it sounds like the run channel is loose or broken.
