Strange rattle in back seat of crewcab

I have recently aquired a rattle in the back seat of my crew cab. Its a 2004 f-350 larriet. Its a dull rattle. I've looked at every possible source, besides tearing out the pannels of the doors and behind the seats. I was wondering if anyone else has experienced this rattle and have you figured it out?? Its enough to drive me insane!!

This is a guess, but check the body to frame bolts. Some time ago a few people had problems with these. It could also be, and this one happened to me, loose change. I had a rattle in my rear seat area and couldn't find for a week. It turned out to be quarter that had slid back underneath the metal tray and was rattling.

Not sure if its the same sound you are getting, but I have a noise coming from the post area. Drove me nuts until I just got used to it. There are several old threads on this website about the post noise.

I don't think this is your issue, but just in case...

I thought I had a rattle/clank coming from the rear seat, but it was actually the sound of my hitch insert rattling around in the receiver the sound of which travels right up the frame.

Do you leave your hitch insert in??

Thanks, but I do take out the receiver, but I see where you are comming from about the noise travelling from elsewhere, I quess its time to take a closer look under the truck as well.

Believe it or not, some guys have had luck spraying the back door weather stripping with silicone, after cleaning it real good. Give that a try and let us know if it works for you.

It sounds like the seat belt, but its probably not.

I had a very similar problem it drove me nuts. I checked everything. Mine turned out to be the latch on the door. I applied a little grease to the latch and it went away.
