Casting Numbers?

Casting Numbers?
I have 2 auto trannys that appear to fit my '80 F-250 2wd Truck.
The casting numbers are D5UP-7006-AA and D4AP-7006-AA
They both will bolt up to the 460 and appear to be the same length using the same mounting positions, even the driveshaft will mate up to both.
The D5 looks sturdier and might be a C-6 from what I've been told. It had 5 ribs? cast in to the top of the caseing running front to back.
The D4 was in the truck but it looks like linkage was jury rigged to make it work. The D4 also appears to be made with 3 seperate castings. The 1st is an aluminium bell housing the 2nd is a cast iron casting where the linkage is the 3rd is an aluminium tail housing.
I plan on sending the best one out to be rebuilt as soon as I can figure out what they are. If anyone can help me identify them and suggest which would be best to rebuild I would really appreciate it.
