if you can help step by step instructions would be helpfull
already have fuel pressure regulater and all is plumbed up just have this problem so far
The power feed you are using for the fuel pump can't come through the old EFI computer. The computer will only let the pump run for a few seconds to prime when the key is turned ON. After that the computer waits until it has received feedback from certain sensors before it will engage the fuel pump circuit again. You will have get a power feed from the ON side of the ignition switch but NOT through the EEC computer. This way the pump will just run whenever there is power to the ON position of the ignition switch. Again, make certain you feed the pump THROUGH the inertia switch though.
Best bet would be to use the RED wire and the LT. BLUE/ORANGE wire from the fuel pump relay. Wire one of them to a source that is energized when the key is in the ON position. Ground the other wire. Its a relay coil, so it doesn't really matter which wire you use for which. This should run the pump whenever the key is in the ON position and still keep the fail-safe of the inertia cut-off intact in the event of a collision.
No problem, glad it worked. I've never actually done what I was describing but it made sense based on what I know of the conponents. Lemme know how she runs!
well the title says it all she runs great and fast aww man never got the power out of my fuely like this carbureted 302 and its got a two barrel on it ! running hedman longtube headers two cherry bombs and a x pipe sounds like a hopped up mustang and pulls like a diesel totaly happy with it ignition works great old duraspark .stock fuel pump had to be taken out of tank and small electric put on frame stock put out way too much pressure even with the regulater they sold me at auto zone still using the relays that are stocke with the inertia swith still hooked up greystreak! man after 7 months of sitting in the garage its good to see her go again thanks to all that helped
thanks again
