I was having trouble starting my truck, and after it started if i stepped on the gas it would just continue to idle and after a few seconds it would catch. It went from this to being very hard to start, and almost no responce to stepping on the gas, or backfireing. Now it wont run at all. So I disconected the fuel lines and turned on the key both pumps seem to work, at least they both pump fuel. Where do I go from here? I had to take the box off to get at the pumps, so everything is in the open. Oh ya I also changed fuel filter.
you need to check the fuel pressure at the rail. and check to see if the injectors are firing. if you think your problem is fuel. but it can be many other things. trey to get the codes and check all of the vacuum lines and electrical connections.
As I understand it the computer adjusts the fuel pressure by changing the voltage on the pumps and you do not have a fuel pressure regulator anymore. I know very little about your fuel system on your 2003 F150. You could have a bad fuel pressure sensor.
Maybe if you asked in the fuel forum someone may know something about it but I have seen very little on your fuel system in the forums.
If you do not have a 2003 then please disregard this post but that is what your profile says.
