Goog luck, hope it fixes it for you. My truck is parked with very similar issues waiting for a CPS right now.
FWIW, when my truck dies, the tach goes to 0 but the AIC drops to 25 rpm or so and slowly drops to 1. Sometimes when it won't restart the tach will bouce but other times theres no movement of the tach.
