Problem with Carquest

Hey guys wanted to share with you all an issue I recently resolved that started with Carquest. Now this doesn't involve my truck but if they can't get this right then what else might they mess up.

Two years ago I purchased some new spark plugs for my wife's 2001 Jeep Cherokee from Carquest. At the time the jeep had about 125k on it and was well maintained. It was throwing codes for misfires and some battery issues. I replaced the battery about a week later. But my problems didn't stop there. I continued to have misfire codes but the engine was not running rough and showed no signs of a plug issue. So we replaced the coil pack and did two injector services over the next year and half. I was about to change out the injectors when a mechanic friend I trust completely asked me what kind of plugs I had in it. Well they were autolite which is what Carquest gave me. The problem was Carquest gave me the wrong autolite plug. It was close enough to not cause misfires during running they only came at idle so that was why the engine didn't seem to run rough. So we changed the plugs to Champions (OEM for Jeeps) and all codes cleared and have not returned.

Normally I wouldn't make a big deal about something like this but after dealing with it for two years it drove me nuts and has had the wife complaining none stop about the Jeep and how ****ty it is. I personally love the Jeep and want to keep it even after we get her a new car but she isn't going for that one.

I had another problem with them on the Jeep giving me the wrong lift gate arms and had the back drop on my wife and me a few times before I returned and went someplace else. Anyway just be aware of the part number and everything else you need when buying something from Carquest. I hope your experiences with t will be better then mine have been.

I sell parts for another chain store, And have had problems with autolite's in other apps too! I have found it is best to use the OE Brand, But most parts guys sell them because there at the top of the list!

This is what I have found

Ford : Motor craft, Autolite
GM : AC delcos
Chrysler : Champion
Jap imports : NGK
German : Bosch
