I guess I'm in the minority. I lived in Jax for awhile and heard so much about the boiled peanuts. I passed by a stand where this old guy was boiling them up and got some. Felt like a big gob o' snot in my mouth. I love roasted peanuts but found the boiled ones just too slimy and well you get the picture.
I agree - if I want to eat snot, it'll be my own. Did the roadside stand exploratory thing near Wilmington, NC ("hey honey, let's stop in. That sounds good"); never again. Plenty of other roadside chow that's far more palatable (pecans in any way, shape, or form).
I've tried them. I couldn't manage to swallow them. Of course that's my own opinion and I hope I dont' influence anyone else from trying the nasty, slimy critters.....lol
