3/4 axles

how hard would it be to put say a dana 60 front axle on a 79 f 150 with a front coil springs?

Well, since they don't make coil sprung D60s, then you'd have to fabricate spring perches, cut off leaf spring mounts, ect...

It has been done with great succes, but just takes time and some fabing.

Quite true. There are a couple companies that make a conversoin kit for around $1,000+. I think I've heard of 1 with a 4-link/coils.

Pretty easy, just ditch the coils and go with leafs and take everything off the donor. It is easy enough to fab your own brackets for the front hangers and just use the springs.
