Please Help... 94 E-250 V8

Do I have to lift the engine to swap the oil pan...........and how difficult to swap the steering box?????? Thanks, Dick

Lift the engine or remove the crossmember. I think I remember a cheat though. Loosen the motor mounts and anything else that will restict movement. Put a 2x4 on your Jack and jack the motor up until you think you can clear the pan. Use a block of wood between the frame perch and the motor mounts to keep the engine elevated and remove the jack.

Steering boxes are PIA only because they are heavy. You will need a couple of open end wrenches, ratchets and sockets for the mounts and a pitman are puller. Unhose, pull the pitman arm (much easier to do with a pitman arm puller, but can be done with out it) and unbolt from the frame. Installation is reverse. Be carefull, they are full of very slick oil, usually very dirty and 25-30lbs.
