Anyone know what bumpers will replace the front/rear bumpers on a 1966 Ford F-100 Custom Cab? I have an original front chrome bumper but I'd replace it if I could find another. The rear is a old painted one, and I really hate it. If you know what late model bumpers will fit, please let me know..
Nothing any later will fit?
It'll be kinda hard to find something that "old" in good chrome condition. I'll check around the 10 or so junkyard I check regurly check tho
You can buy new chrome ones for $150.
In fact, one advertiser I saw in a recent magazine was running a sale on front chrome ones for $109!
Doesn't make sense to buy junk for that price.
Thanks, Id give 150 for a bumper. I could proboally get them off of a older truck for free (since I know a guy that owns a junk yard) but for that price I'd buy new ones. Have any idea what magazines or websites sell them for that price?
I bought mine from Obsolete Ford in Okla City. They have a website too. Mine cost $99 for the front. Now, what you get is a Chinese bumper that is thinner than the stock one but it looks pretty nice. I did have trouble with them being back-ordered but my buddy got his in days. Go figure.
Thanks. I'll search around for their website. Chinese bumper wouldn't be to bad. My front bumper is pretty much new, just thought about replacing it. Definately getting a chrome one, or a roll pan for the rear tho... can't deal w/ the old steel painted one.
Thanks again
[updated:LAST EDITED ON 08-Jan-03 AT 10:03 AM (EST)]They have them listed at www.obsoletefordparts.com as 64-77 for the fronts. They are $94 for painted and $109 for chrome. The rears fit 64-72. The frames got wider in 73. The problem with the rear bumpers is getting the brackets. They are not reproduced yet so only NOS or used are your choices. A lot of dealers sold the trucks with step bumpers as they had a higher profit margin. That makes the stock brackets hard to come by.
Thanks. I'll check out the site and most likely order them next week I appreciate it. Brackets aren't a problem, as I have made them for a 79 ford for a bumper and a homemade receiever. Both turned out looking very well.
