I have over 63K miles on my diesel Excursion (7.3 PSD) and have never added an additive (and I haven't had any problems with it either). I'm getting ready to go to the river this weekend and just picked up a quart of the stuff and now I'm having second thoughts. The fuel tank is full, all I gotta do is pour it in.
I've never heard of it. Do you have a link to the company? What does that product contain? What are it's stated features and benefits? Could I ask more questions?
I am currently adding Diesel Kleen at each fill up. It is formulated for diesel engines, adds lubricity, and claims to improve mileage.
I sell boats for a living. Alot of my customers use seafoam in there out board motors. I have never heard any complaints, but is they are also burn gasoline. I have no experience wiht the stuff in a diesel.
Why have second thoughts? I checked the link and it says it adds lubricity. That is the #1 reason to run an additive so as to protect your very $$$ injectors. The fact that most of these products give you a performance and economy boost is just a bonus that also makes them economically viable too.
I used Seafoam when I first bought my used PSD. I didn't really notice any difference, but then again I wasn't having any problems before I added it.
I have heard a lot of good things about Seafoam. The place where I bought it said that it is great for both gas and diesel engines. The mechanic where I take my car to highly recommends it.
