turning crank.

well I'm doing a 351 to 460 conversion in my 1976 f-250 4x4. The engine was from a 71 ford car and is in the truck now, but I cant turn the crank by hand. My trucks year may be beneficial as somebody may have done this conversion and been in the same situation and probably would be in 73-79 truck which happens to be what my truck is. The question I had is why do you think my crank wont turn?

did you check the main and rod bearings for correct size? I JUST (as in 5 days ago) had this problem and had to pull the motor because of a PO wasnt careful. The 385 series forum is great for 460 problems. Monsterbaby aka Rob and many others are extremely helpful. He mentioned other problems that may cause a tight motor are timing too far advanced and wrong valve springs for the cam.
