I have a 63 F100 with a straight axle. Is there anyway I can get power steering? I know I saw a $800 conversion somewhere but thats out of my budget. Heck Thats over twice the cost of the truck. Any help would be appreciated.
Justin, The easiest thing that you could do is buy a mid 70s donor truck and move your sheet metal over to that chassis. You could have the power steering, disc brakes and larger rear brakes.
If you buy right and sell parts that you don't use, yours could become free.

In the cool still quiet of night, you can hear chevies rusting away.
The frame rails are wider behind the cab, and are longer too. Find the donor truck with all the right things and just bolt on the sheetmetal. It aint as wasy as changing a tire but can be a lot more cost effective while getting what you want.

We were just starting to get it back together and the candidate vehicle appears in the newspaper. Appears a 1990 Jeep commanche pickup. PERFECT! Dirt cheap! Independant front suspension and disc brakes. We're going to look at it soon. Wish us luck!
