power steering pressure switch

I've noticed my power steering fluid leaking quite a bit. I think it's my power steering pressure switch, but the hanes manual states it has to be fixed by a repair shop. Why is that?

You found a pressure switch in an F-series (Bronco) steering system?

not exactly. My power steering started leaking while doing repairs to pass smog. Smog being higher on my list to fix, I was going to let it leak for a couple days until I had time to get to it. Then I noticed the engine idleing a little rough, or inconsistant, (guess the best way to describe) while waiting at an intersection. The hanes manual mentions it being the power steering switch. On visual inspection it looks like its coming from the bottom of the resevoir. getting it smogged today, then I was going to tackle the problem. Was wondering if anyone heard of such problem. 1990 bronco lxt 5.0
