Been turning wrenches for 31 years, ford tech for 10. That procedure will put the flash where its supposed to be. If you have a problem, that will have to be addressed separately. There is several ford techs lurking around here. Talk real nice and use small words and we will all show up eventually(snicker-snicker)
Had mine done several months ago and tow a 32 ft. fiver, with no problems. Only issue I have right now is the engine is a bit slower starting but only after sitting for a few days without running. If I use it daily then it seems to do better, but as far as the recall I've never seen any difference in power or fuel mileage. Hope you can get yours back up to speed.
Had mine done when it first came out. Several months now. Truck idled smoother, and I am still 17-18mpg. Aside from the new anti-freeze level sticker and the fact that is why I took it in, I have no idea it was reflashed.

I got the new sticker for the antifreeze tank also, but they didn't take any fluid out to match the sticker, the water level was still where it originally was when I drove in. You would think that whoever did the sticker would see that the level was incorrect and take out the proper amount....
As far as mileage I don't seem to get anything close to what you are getting, my truck gets around 14.5 mpg on average and as low as 9.0 towing my RV, 12,500# which I figure is ok. I would like to see the mpg higher like my 7.3L was but I don't think it will happen.

My dealer actually did adjust the level of coolant, and yep my milage is hand calculated so I know it is correct. That is highway driving, around town it is in the neighborhood of 15mpg. I also have straight pipe (cat&muffler) 3.5" and open factory(donaldson) airbox. So I am sure that helps a little.
I got my renewal notice in the mail and the California DMV is requiring I get this done before I can register. I have to get a proof of correction certificate from the dealer. Funny part is I took it in this morning and the dealer wrote out and gave me the certificate before my truck was even taken out of the check in area.
Need to know if you can reset this code and if you could how do you do it? Also what will the affect be to the truck if code is cleared? Seems like by reading some of the threads that the majority of the problems are affecting earlier 06's from 03-early 05
Not to beat a dead horse here but I am thinking of replacing my 1704a tuner with an SCT custom tune(r) that (if I read correctly) can disable the EGR and EBP. If the custom tune can do that, should I bother getting the 05e15 recall done?
My truck runs fairly well now and my average (lie-o-meter) mileage around town is about 15.5 which I thought the recall might improve upon slightly.
