I sat on this recall for a while with fear that it might screw up an excellent running truck. I broke down a few weeks ago and had it done. No issues at all after having just returned from a 4000+ mile trip.
anytime i can help, either on this site or at the dealer level.

jorylee--look in the tech folder for 6.0. The important thing is for the tech to complete the flashes. That is why there is some people that have trouble and some dont.
if your engine was built after 8/01/05 you need not worry. if you do have any programs on your truck, and you go to a ford dealer, they are supposed to run oasis whenever your trucks comes in. if any programs show up they usually take care of them
cant say that i have. i am usually the one that does all ours. i will admit i have a couple i messed up on some myself before i actually read how to do the reprogram.
Yeah, when we all started on this bizarre 6.0 journey, all of us were less than efficient. The better techs are the ones that have "found the way" so to speak.
couldnt have said it better myself. although, sometimes i feel like the light at the end of the tunnel is an oncoming train lol. everybody wants there truck yesterday. all this week it has been whoever screams the loudest gets there truck done the quickest. gets more aggravating that trying to get paid good from ford.
I'm Canadian and have an 05 PSD. I lost MPG, reponse and power. Was at another dealer with a complaint about my non-existant limited slip diff and they reflashed my truck due to a recall without asking me first. And since then I've noticed the above. Canadian gallons are bigger so MPG number differ from US but I went from getting 21 1/2 MPG at 70 mph to 19 1/2 mpg at best. To say I'm mad is an understatement. Anyone know of a way to return the PCM back to original pre flash????
Again, there is no problem with the flash, the problem comes from the tech not completing the flash. The reflash makes the vehicle react more to pre-existing conditions. If you have a problem(stuck vanes, excessive coking) it will show up more now. Just for a hoot,(it wont hurt anything) disconnect your batteries for ten minutes, then reconnect them. Start your truck and let idle for five minutes. This should suffice for your relearn procedure. Then, over a period of time, see if your power returns.
I'll try it. Do you think this would bring back my fuel economy to where it was pre-flash? Also, how do you know so much about this, are you a Ford Tech?
