From what i am reading here about the edge doesn't make sense! I have the Edge Juice with Attitude and love it. One plus is that I am not reprogramming the PCM. Flashing any chip has its risk. I believe that that the PCM memory was not cleared before you install the Edge. This is a must and is very simple just disconnect both batterys neg. cable (I did both pos & neg and cleaned the terminals then spayed with sealer) for at least 30 minutes. The edge will not work properly with the PCM if you do not do clear the history stored in the PCM.
I have a Banks exhaust and K&M air filter (a stock replacement I plan to upgrade) I run on the fuel economy mode and fly. I have it set for the most responsive in low boost fueling and have no smoke to speak of. The Edge states that the PCM may need to be programed for better trans shifting under certain modes. This is because Fords PCM makes no adjustments on it own. The Edge Evolution can do that. So far I have had no issues with the trains shifting.
Hope this helps

I loved the Edge Juice too until I switched to DP-Tuner, then my truck would probably put nine bus lengths on itself with the Edge Juice.

I have been reading this and other posts of Edge Juice w/Attitude and some people love and some people are disapointed. I just bought a 01 X 4X4 with a 2-4 lift. 315 tires, a K&N cold air intake 4" exaust. I dont kno if anything was done to the transmission. it also has the 3 gauge pillar cluster. A friend of mine bought the edge w attitude unit and didnt pa attention to what he orderd caus ehe need 6.0 and got the 7.3. It has never been used is still in the box. Is this worth $500? Or would i be better off waiting?

If you already have gauges (EGT with sensor at exhaust manifold not at turbo) You might want to go with a Super Chip or DP-Tuner. I believe they are around $350.
ps. If your EGT sensor is at the turbo exhaust down pipe there is a 200 to 300 deg. cooler reading.

IMO I would choose the Edge product over the superchip. No experience with the DP unit. Since you already have the gauges though.....tough decision.

You could just purchase the Edge Juice and the three way switch. My concern with some of these other chips or programs that make claims of 140 HP more ect. is the effect on the engine's longevity. I am just looking for better mpg, little more torque,hp and throttle response for daily driving and towing. I not out to race. I would like to hear from someone who has 300k+ running it with some of these other chips and programs with such claims.

I agree with BuickTurbo, The Edge set up that I have has been great to me and my "X". I haven't had any real problems except for the heat from the engine that makes the Juice box go a little crazy at times. Other than that I am happy with it. Also every PSD is set up differently, why do you think the chip tuners need your PCM numbers. Also I have a friend that has the same year "X" and both of ours have different stock HP when we got them on the dyno.

Hey "X"

If you have intermittent problems with your fuel box, reset the computer. It helps.
