I have a 2004 PSD CC and it has the CD player in the dash. When my truck has been sitting in a parking lot or wherever for that matter and it is hot outside 80 and higher the CD player will not let me stick a CD in it without it grinding it to death. I put a CD in the player, and then it starts making a grinding sound and it won't let me eject it unless I push eject 3 different times. Is the radio going bad, or is this a normal problem with our trucks and the radio getting to hot to accept CD's? Thanks.
Dont know if its a common problem, but it could be. I suggest getting aftermarket cd deck. Depending what you are looking for thier not to exepensive. Pioneer makes great CD Decks for a low price. It'll be cheaper then replace all the CD's your lossing to your hungry CD deck.

I've had my PSD out in the heat in AZ where it got to over 120, and have never had a cd not play. Is you truck still under warranty? If yes, then get it checked. If not, then replace the headunit w/a good aftermarket one. You can even add a dvd player and nav. too.
I have an 04 250 and my in dash cd started doing the same thing. I live in south fla. so its always hot. Sometimes it wont eject, says cd error, I smack the top of the dash right above the radio and then hit eject again and it will work.
Its defenetly heat related because once I run the Air conditioning, it will let me insert a cd and play it. So since this seems to be a heat issue is there something I can do to fix it, or do I have to waste my time taking it to a dealer?
Had a problem w/my factory cd player overheating, shutting down & giving an error message early on in my truck's life. Dealer swapped it out under warranty. Of course, they wouldn't do it while I waited...had to leave the truck with them all day, but they did replace it.
