Howdy!
From the first look this is a great Forum!
Live in Redding, CA. Truck is a 1990 F150 XLT Lariat.
This is my second Ford truck. The first was a 1966 F150, 352 grany gear 4 speed with an 8'stepside bed. Basic, basic truck. No I restate A TANK! Road like a tank LOL boyhowdy that baby was a tough Guy! Drove her (America) for 23 years and 320k on one rebuild!
The 1990 is better suited (love ext cab) for a old guy with a bad back! We will see if this one lasts as long as America!?
I look forward to knowing you all and a long relationship with FTE!

Sounds like a nice truck - the 90 should might go 325k without a rebuild if you have the 300.
Check out the 87 to 96 forum, there's a lot of great info in there, and lots of knowledgeable folks to answer your questions.
P.S. - you can edit your posts for up to (I think) 30 minutes after you post them. There's an edit button in the lower right hand corner of the post.

We have a member who has a boat shop in Redding - and several others near you. I have never asked what he is doing, but we even have an active US Navy guy in the mountains behind you.
Anyway, weldome aboard, and please post often.

btw, I would bet my last dollar that your new truck is not as stout as your old one. It is much more comfortable, but will it last as well? I like the steel of the old trucks compaired to the plastic of the new ones.
But that is what makes them more fuel effecient and comfortable!
Watch what you say about this old truck..
I love the way mine rides. I have gone thru the front end and am in the process of installing power disc brakes for safety.
I have also installed bucket seats for comfort. Now if it only had A/C...
As long as it is a FORD you are welcome here and welcome aboard..
The F100 1966 FORD trucks are bullet proof! There are no other trucks in my mind. That old girl never let me down in 23 years of service.
Glad to meet you *****. FTE is a great resource!
Its good you are changing out the drum breaks on the 66. 66's will always slide to the right(rear end will pass you) in a locked brake situation at speed. I m sure the disk brakes will change that for the better. Get in aparking lot and test it.
