Maybe not larger brakes, but better rotors.
ART and a few other manufacturers make drilled and slotted rotors. They greatly reduce stopping distances and maximize brake pad life. If you were to go with larger brakes (which I don't think is possible), you would probably have to get some bigger rims and maybe swap a few other things out to acomodate the bigger discs. Check out FTEs sponsors and the vendor/discount section. You should find what you're looking for; take care.
