yeah, there's no bubbles in mine. the fire option sounds more tempting. i seriously doubt the pump being the cause, since 4 brand new pumps going bad immediately is incredibly unlikely. a good situation turned to excelent when i went to pull the pulley off the latest pump and the ring the puller fits around tore clean off the pulley

It sounds like the valve is sticking. If you pull the box apart again, check the valve for signs of scuffing, damage, or debris in it. A black/graphite colored "dust" is ok, shiny flakes is bad, greyish chunks is really bad.

You are going to have to get a gage in the high psi line to see whats going on.It doesn't have to be anymore sophistacated than this. A 2000# gage will do it.
