04 v10 excursion with steering issues. Whenever I turn (Left or Right) the steering wheel will not return to center, I have to turn it back myself, its really easy to turn back, but i get no help at all. There doesn't seem to be very much play in the steering, and the power steering works pretty good. My guess is steering box, but i'm not sure?
My guess is the previous owner tightened the steering box to much, you may get lucky and be able to back it out a little. ( search here for steering box adjustment )... Some claim if you over tighten your box it turns to toast, but at this point you have nothing to lose by backing it out a bit.
2nd guess you may have something binding, like your front steering stabilizer ( but I'm leaning more to your steering box ).
Have you checked your balljoints? I have the same issue. I've tried adjusting the steering box, replaced steering stabilizer and replaced center link and greased outer tie rods and balljoints. Nothing helped... I'm changing my balljoints soon as they're badly worn. Hopefully that'll help.

I haven't checked them. Whenever you get them changed let me know if it solves the issue.
Many things can cause the problem. Remove tie rods and move knuckles be hand checking for free range of motion which will tell you if the ball joints are binding or the axle joints.
