Double beadlocks... from guess who

:flamesuit on:
I'm seriously considering going with his rims... I tried 2 or 3 shops here locally (within 45 minutes) and none could mount my rims. I finally got to a shop that does most of their business with Semi's and they told me that the bead for the tire, a 46x16.5R20 Michelin XML, was different than any civilian rim bead. D'oh. He didn't tell me that. He said that they would work, but be very difficult to get off. No problem thought I, I shall just be resourceful when I need to remove the tire from the rim. If the need be, I shall use a sawzall and cut the tire. No use getting it off the damn rim if its not even on in the first place.

SO.

I need rims. John's (Stazworks) are $335 of something for the 20" double beadlocks. The only other place I know of is That Unmentionable Place.
So unless someone has another company to order from, I guess I will email him with the following:
"Hi,
I am interested in ordering a set of your custom 20" double dealocks with the xxxxxx pattern in xxx color. However, I am more than aware of your bad business habits regarding your customer service. Still, I would like to order some rims from you. I need them by the end of the month, and you guarantee 4 week shipment from the placement of the order. I will email you at the end of the first, second, and third week, and numerous times during the forth. If you have not updated me with visual evidence that the rims have been constructed and are ready to ship on the day that marks the 4th week, I WILL CANCEL THE ORDER and contact the credit card company.
Love,
Rob"

:flamesuit off:

Oh, what times.
Today sucked. But my div NP205 crossmember is coming along fairly well, pics & another thread soon.

I knew you'd be the first to read it Ivan... Other than KO, who isn't on a whole lot.

I really don't want to buy from him, but I really need to.

You can mount those tires on regular rims. I don't know what the semi place was telling you but there's nothing too special about the beads. Look at all the ghey'd up show trucks running those same tires on blingtastic wheels. They'll go on, you just have to be motivated.

I don't fault anyone for buying from Dan. You'll get your wheels and you'll like them. When you'll get them is the real question. What I would recommend is to ask Daniel if he can guarantee a 4 week delivery. Then ask him if he'd be willing to sign an agreement that if the wheels are not delivered by such and such date that he will refund your money (or maybe half . . . whatever you want to do there) and still deliver the wheels. This way either you'll get them on time (psyche! ) or you'll get them for cheap if not free.

Thats a good idea. Problem is there would probably have to be a witness. So he could sign it in front of one of those certified people who also sign it and stamp it. Problem is, he would take 2 weeks just to get that done.

Nah, no witness. Just write up an agreement, sign it and mail it to him with a self addressed stamped envelope so he can sign and send it back. Let him know you'll send funds as soon as it arrives. He might not do it but I would raise the issue of people you know having problems with delivery time (Me for 2 sets of wheels and Chris for his). Mention the names, he'll know exactly what you're talking about. It's not a matter of if you'll get them, just when. As far as quality I'm very happy with them. I just don't like having gray hair and prostate cancer before I get my rims.

thats what i always thought no matter who you order from or what you're ordering. a signed agreement saves your butt if in fact it comes to going to court esp if you are gonna do business with someone who has a sketchy past, lol. i wouldnt think a notary is necessary but it cant hurt either!

are staz's DB's that much more than USA's? last i checked (been a while, lol) they were about the same

Ivan, are you running those lightweight runflats that daniel offers now? or the PVC? i cant remember

Staz's were $335 for the comperable model as USA6x6's that were $220.

I cnt justify the extra $115 per rim as well as that shipping when USA6x6 is on the way(ish) to school.

I'm old school . . . running PVC.

Raw, if you're picking them up in person ask about a discount too. S&H is factored into the regular price, you might get them a little cheaper. It's worth a shot. Plus you can show up in his shop every day and bug him about your rims.

Well... it wouldnt be an everyday thing, but i could stop by a few times. Icant believe tthat S&H is factored in. He must be making no money after all the returns and all the back-forth shipping.

Exactly! Pays to do it right the first time. Double check that on the shipping but on both sets I bought it was included in the price.
