coil spring compressor

Can I install front coils on my 94 f150 without the use of a compressor? I thought for sure I would need one but my repair manual doesn't mention using one.

To be on the safe side, and avoid a trip to the dentist, use one. I haven't taken them off my trucks, but I've done them on other vehicles and they can be unpredictable.

The last time I did a coil spring replacement on an F-150, no spring compressor was needed.

Just jack up the front end and put the frame on jackstands to unload the front suspension. The coil springs go to full extension and can be removed and replaced without using a compressor.

The hardest part of the job is removing all of those tight and rusty bolts.

are you putting in longer coils than the stock ones, if so i would get a spring compressor, what do you have to support the truck under the frame? it sounds easy but you have to get a lot of height to get that truck up there, so the front end will hang. I know, I just did this. be careful
