I seem to feel a distinct clunk in the front end after going over a good size bump, kind of like my Safari van did when the steering bit that connects to the steering box was in need of grease? Steering feels tight and that part is really easy to roll on it's axis.... what the heck is that part called? not tie rod.... hmmmm.
Do I just need grease? Any opinions are appreciated!
I have the same thing in my truck. From what I have read on this site, it is a good possibility that it is one of the bushings on the front sway bar. Just a suggestion.

I had what sounds like a similar problem and this is what it was for me.
Hi all, must be the mane for that bit!! I seem to recall hearing that one before, I will look into it further, still can't wipe off the BSEG to concentrate on it.... maybe tomorrow I will give it a good going over.
Typical noise for these when the sway bar bushing are in need of attention. Check for tight, all bolts. Especially the link bolts. These often wear out, and rattle at the socket. The wifes 03 did this so much, I took the sway bar off. Not recommending this, but it did fix the problem. Super Duties make the same noise, and can be felt in the floor. This comes from loose body bolts. If you can't find the problem in the sway bar, torque the body bolts to about 150 - 175 ft. lbs.
