Annoying Noise?

Finally!
Here is it. The final word. After weeks of fighting with Ford.......the ring and pinion in the read diff were not backlashed/matched correctly. My buddy Mike who used to work for AJ Foyt/Copenhagen racing rode in it and pegged it immediately. He even noticed that the noise starts at increasingly lower speeds and gets louder after driving for a while. He says probably the oil in the rear diff getting hot and not lubricating the pinion/gears as well as when cold. Ford balked on it due to the speed of occurrence. I griped that it was happening more and more and that eventually was going to be happening at less than freeway speeds. I also played the damaged pinion bearings and complete failure angle. Anyways, they have it this week and are replacing the entire package, including the bearings and gears. I think this saga is finally over. Knock on wood......

hmmmmmm, looks like i pegged it on the first try. i dont even work for a racing team, just a cert master tech for 13 years. damn, i'm good. see, i did a computer diagnostic procedure. usually that cost about $100. see post #14 thats me....
