???..uuumm, i put a 12" or so antenna so it would stop hitting the garage door, but the reception sucked so i put the old one back on...is that what you mean??
Bought one off Ebay a couple years ago. Don't rub on the garage anymore but it won't pick up much for stations when searching. If you manually search it finds them and they come in clear.
yeah..i just live with the antenna hitting....need our stations..we live in the boonies..where i really saw a problem was traveling cross country..in the middle of nowhere you get nothing with the small antenna

go through the wheel well, unscrew it from the base. you cant remove the old cable because it is attached to too many things, you just run the new cable next to the old one. oh, remove the radio.
On my old E250 van, the antenna served as an early warning device for roof clearance for me. If the antenna scraped anything overhead, I knew I had aboud one more inch before the roof hit. Came in handy sometimes.
