I got a code tonight PO603,PCM keep alive memory(kam)error and PO1247 low boost. could someone please explain this to me. I knew my truck was running bad.
it seems that all chipped trucks get P0603 some how. it's nothing to worry about. however, P1247 is... low boost- that means you either aren't producing boost or are leaking boost. check all 6 of the intake boots to make sure they are not cracked or slit. tighten the clamps DOWN tight. how much boost do you make at WOT now? should be around 25 or so with the highest setting loaded in...
running empty WOT i get about 10lbs. with egt's wanting to skyrocket. have tightened all boots but will check again. in the process of changing EBP Sensor and cleaning tube. (that through a code) disconnected wastegate. just changed out 6637 yesterday. running predator at 40hp.
Check your intercooler pipes for any leaks, then check exhaust manifold and up-pipes for soot indicating a leak. If everything is ok there then move to your wastegate and tighten the rod to see if that makes any changes to your boost. If it does replace the wastegate. If it's not the wastegate then start looking at the turbo itself. Check the compressor wheel for any damage and/or play.
I had similar problems and found it was my wastegate causing all the problems. Put a Banks Big Head on there and problems disappeared.
Wonder if your wastegate actuator is failing and even weaker than it is designed to be, and thus leaking all your boost out earlier than it normally does.
What you may want to try is wiring the wastegate shut with a wire or hose clamp or similar, and try driving around like that, and see if your boost acts as it should.
Also, since you've got a boost gauge, have you noticed this lack of boost getting worse gradually, or did it suddenly just happen?
Start by putting a bungee cord on the armature. Look at the front of your exh manifold pass side and make sure that sensor line is not cracked or unbolted( he he I did that) I have a leak on my uppipe too but that is a project for a weekend to retorque.
