If the truck sat for a long time, the cowl may have rotted out. There are a few body seam in this area as well. If you look under the dash with a flashlight, rust lines will lead you to the leak, or you will see a hole in the cowl.
I had leaks with two mustangs and two ford 65 and 70 trucks. All four of them had leaks and they were all coming from holes where the wipers go thru the firewall. The gaskets go bad over the years. You could fix it with some gasket material and sealer, If that is where it is comong from.
For the windshield wipers you need to take the outside arm off. This is done by lifting the arm up and there should be a clip or a tab I believe you need a screw driver to release it (lift the tab out). Then it should pull straight off. You will then need to take out the bolts holding the controll arm that operates the wipers from under the dash. It may be easier for you to take the keeper key out of the part that the wipers attatch to first. Then take the bolts out. Once you get in there you will see what I am talking about. Try not to shift the wipers around while you are doing this, so that you can reinstall it correctly.(The wiper stroke needs to be right and dont take off both sides at the same time what ever you do!!!!!!) I hope that helps.
If it is above the kick pannel just search for the area while someone is running water over the windshield and cowl vent. Do this first eigther way. Have plenty of light and space. You may want to take the seat out so you have plenty of room. It is gonna take some determination. If it does at the cowl vent and firewall joint think about using body sealer. I have even thought about using JB Weld (Never used the stuff though) But if that does not work it is permenant.
