Has anyone ever or heard of someone swaping I beams from a newer truck would they lower/raise it if not it would at least be nice to have the ball joints rather than kingpins. The reason I ask is because of a 65 I saw in a mag with 73 - 79 beams to lower it a little and disk breaks.
I have a 77 F100 I lowered. I bought, at the time, from a company called PBI. Their I-beams were good for trucks starting in the early 60's and up to '79. For what ever reason, they are interchangeable, but not past 79. I believe Ford went with a new I-beam configuration starting in 1980. I tried to find I-beams that could lower an '80's or newer truck, but was told repeatedly that they will not bolt up to my 77. Hope this helps.
