I'm getting ready to change the belt, hoses, water pump, T-stat, and coolant on a 99.5 E350. The Evans coolant looks like a good choice for coolant, but before spending all that $$$ I would like to know if anyone else has made the switch and disliked it. Test strips and additives sound like a hassle.
There are no maintenance records on this van (155K miles). I plan to pull maintenance like everything is original stuff.
I will be using the van to haul a 10K+ trailer across country and then puting the van in storage for 6mo - 1yr. Any other suggestions are appreciated.
I ran it for nearly three years without issue. I liked it a lot, but when I developed a coolant leak the lack of local availability and $20/gallon plus shipping made it too expensive to keep.
There are several locally available coolants you can switch to that do not require any addatives....including the factory coolant the 2002+ Powerstrokes use.
