i just finished everything today, installed ww and hpx from DI. i started her up and i feel less power, new sounds (i dont know if they're good or bad), and the turbo is smokin now. whats wrong with her?
i pulled it. im not exactly sure if its the turbo thats smoking, but the smoke is coming from that general area, maybe the up pipe? but it was smoking when the engine was turned off too
Sounds like some oil may have dripped onto one of the up-pipes. Is the smoke coming out look as if it's being forced out or just kind of rising at it's own pace?
cinch up the waste gate (just a little at a time) and do something about your intake (I noticed a considerable difference when I got rid of the stock air box for the 6637) and you should be golden, regarding the power aspect.
I think that the smokin turbo is a result of the WD-40 we sprayed on it to get the exhaust clamps off.
ok, now theres no more smoke. 1 more problem to fix. will disabling the wastegate help with the power loss? or will i have to take on the tedious task of playing with the waste gate?
it doesnt. the thing is, its not supposed to take away power. the whole point of it is to eliminate turbo surge. side effects should include louder turbo whistle.
