as soon as you hit the brake pedal, the engine shuts off. So they can't steal your truck. When you get to the truck, you can unlock it and get in, put the key in and turn it on and then press the brake pedal to overvide the system. then you can drive off as normal.
This is why you want to use the Fords PATS bypass kit. Not one of those generic kits that requires you to put an extra PATS key underneath your dash. If a thief finds that, then he could steal your truck.
Thanks for the info. That makes me a little more comfortable with the install then. I've been wanting to do this to my truck since I purchased it. Since I do walk quite a ways from my building to my truck, it could be cooling off (now in the summer) or heating up as I walk out.
Does it also turn on your headlights if they are set to autolamp?

they have remote systems that are prewired and suppose to be very easy to install. if i buy this fx4 my wife is trying to convince me to get i'll prolly go with one of those
