Did anyone get the factory Ford alarm and remote start installed in their F150? I was wondering where the stuck the alarm LED because they drilled a whole in my dash and i'm not too pleased bec ause it looks like crap.
I have the Ford Gold system. They installed the led on the metal bracket holding the bottom of the dash on the lower left. It is unobtrusive. Can't imagine drilling the dash out for this led.
Mine is the gold too, look at my profile, I have some pics where they put the led. I think I'm going to go back to Ford and tell them to replace the dash cover where they stuck that led. Can you please post me a pic of where the stuck your led.
Sorry, my LED is on the panel below the headlight switch. It seems ok and looks ok to me. Nobody really sees it but me. What I have on the bracket is the reset button for the alarm. It is on the bracket to the right of the brake release handle, but underneath the plastic dash. I have a pic but I don't know how to post it here. Give me an email address and I'll send it if you like.
I don't have a picture handy, but the dealership asked me where I'd like it ... and they suggested putting it in the center of my flow-through floor console (Lariat) ... between my shifter and the ashtray. So, that's where it is ... looks fine, out of the way, but still visible by those peering in the windows and thinking twice (hopefully).
And that is how it should be, instead of some kid sticking a hole where he feels it should be, sounds like yours is in a descent spot. Me personally I think they shouldn't have the led. My truck came from the factory with a led on the top of the dash, the ford alarm system should tie into this to keep a stock look, I thought that is what I was paying for. Maybe I just think of this truck as a classic muscle car, where everything should be virgin.
