Is this something i can do myself? I have basic mechanical knowledge. How would i get the wheel off? Is there a way i can get it off myself or do i need to get a wheel puller?
Are clocksprings alot of money?
sorry for all the questions
It's a simple job. The clockspring is encased in a plastic housing so you don't need to worry about it flying apart. As noted above, disconnect the battery; remove the air bag; remove the steering wheel; remove the clock spring. Install in reverse.
You can borrow a wheel puller from Autozone and I think the clock spring cost me around $100 (not too sure since it's been a while...)
There are more indepth instructions on this site, just do a search on clockspring.
