I bought a 72 F100 Ranger XLT. The body isn't bad, but the roof of the cab could use a good coat of primer. Its a 360 with a C6 and for 300 bucks, it runs great. I drove it almost 100 miles from where I bought it to my house and we did it in just over 2 hours. I really felt a lot better after it made the trip. I am going to replace the power steering pump and line today, ANY ADVICE? The brakes work, but there really isnt much pedal pressure until you hit the floor, and then they pretty much lock up. Booster works good, could it be a bad master cylinder? I will bleed the brakes first to see if that fixes it. Other than that, she just needs some little tune up things and maybe some suspension work. It leans to the left side about 1/2". I figure for about another 200 dollars, it will be a good daily driver.
Hi Aaron, I would check the brake adjustment first, adjust as necessary then bleed. If the mileage is high, I would also recommend replacing the master cylinder before you bleed the brakes. That way you bleed once. my 2.5 cents.
Hey Aaron congrats on the new ride and what a buy! One day you can slide a 390 crank and piston set in there and have a real horse. Hope you get the stopping worked out.
