98 Expy...Constant Blown Front shocks...
Having a major problem i can't seem to get to the bottom of...Have tried numerous good brands...good shocks...Like Bilstein...Rancho 5000's...and most recently the Rancho 9000's...The longest I seem to get out of each set is about 10-12 months...and thier dead....i do have a cooler rack attached to the front for surf fishing...but the weight is very mininual....Have talked to numerous speed shops....had it looked at a few times by tire stores...mech....About to throw the towel in....I have never abused this truck...and the closest i come to four wheeling is driving on the beach....any help or suggestions will be greatly appreciated.....Thanks Guys.....Jim

The only thing that I can think of is that the front suspension is being allowed to compress more than originally designed. Unfortunately my Expy is gone and I can't check it out, but I assume that the front suspension has bumpstops that limit it's degree of compression. If they're worn or missing, the excess compression when hitting a bump may be allowing the shock to compress more than it is designed to do, damaging the shock.
What size wheels/tires are on your Expy? If they're a lot heavier than factory, the shocks have a more difficult time controlling tire/wheel rebound.
