[updated:LAST EDITED ON 23-Jan-02 AT 04:22 PM (EST)]On a 68 f100 360cid. I want to get my carb rebuilt. But the tag is gone on it so i dont know what type it is. There is a little sticker on both sides that has a bunch of numbers and says holley on it. So whats an easay way to find out what rebuild kit i need.

Thanks

[updated:LAST EDITED ON 23-Jan-02 AT 06:56 PM (EST)]Is the name Holley cast into the carb anywhere?

How about Ford cast numbers?
Anything to get close to year and make.

FTR, If you don't mind a little advice. Work on the ignition system first. Swap your distributor for a remanufactured one (50.00) and install the Pertronix Ignitor electronic system (75.00). Then add the big flat cap, long nose rotor and adapter (junk yard and 40.00). Install some 8mm fat wires (30.00) and a set of bosh platinium plugs (25.00). If you have a few more bucks add a mallory or similar coil (80.00). Gap the plugs at 80. You can do all this work yourself, with minimal tools and not all at once. Do new plugs and the pertronix first. I'll bet your carburator is fine for now. I am assuming you have clean fuel and air filters, oil changed, PCV and crank case breathers in order.

Does that carb ahve a removeable float bowl on the front or does it have a top cover plate/ air horn assembly? If it has the top cover, you'll find a Ford part number stamped on the front left side of the bottom flange (ie-C8TE-A).
