CARB 302

ok so i want to keep it simple what is the last year that a 302 had a carb and what size gets the best mpg no hauling or towing 70 f100

Last year for a 302 carb was 1985 or 86 for trucks. Best mpg? That's a 64 million dollar question. My pick would be a Holley 350 cfm for a 2 bbl, for a 4 bbl a Holley 390 cfm.

Although 1985 was the last year for a carburetor for the 5.0, I wouldn't call them simple.

From 1984 - 1985, the 5.0/302 had a feedback carburetor. Like electronic fuel injection, these models used an engine computer to control all emissions, ignition timing, and the air/fuel mixture via the feedback carburetor. So these models are somewhat complicated compared to the earlier models prior to 1984.

Some California models used a more primitive form of electronic engine control as far back as 1980, so watch out for those as well.
