Carbohydrates include fruits, juice, cereals(hot and cold), bread, hams, sugar in your coffee, grits, hash browns pancakes/waffles, syrup, milk(yeah milk, even no fat), probably a few other things.
If you are going low carb usually that means a piece of toast or two is OK or maybe 1 or 2 small pancakes, etc. there are low carb sysrups and jams but IMHO they taste so so.
Things you can eat are meat, fish, eggs, cheese, yogurts, cottage cheese, lots of vegetables(not necessarily beans, corn or peas). Interestingly cheese and plain yogurts are low carb while milk is not, I guess the fermenting process takes the carbs out.
I must do low carb meals, for breakfast I often will eat a bunch of ham and a cheese omlet, or at work I will have a cup of cottage cheese or yogurt(you can mix in 1 or 2 table spoons of jam is you like), don't use that premixed fruit yogurts, they are high in carbs.
Read the lables on prepackaged food. Almost everything that has a box or wrapper has a carb listing. You want less than 60 grams of carb for one serving, less is better if your main intent is low carbs.
Good Luck, it can be done, but man I do miss my huge plate of hash browns and a plate of pancakes smothered in syrup. Now I can have a cup full or a couple pancakes, with a table spoon of low carb syrup. But on the bright side you can eat a whole carton of eggs and sausage, IF you are not also watching calories.
I have Instant Breakfast in the morning. The stuff you mix up in a glass of milk. Been doing this for years. Don't know how low carb it is, don't really care.
Low carb, I'm on a low carb and low cholesterol diet, Its a good thing I actually like vegetables, I eat lots of fish, chicken and occasionally lean beef. l eat eggs and cheese and go lightly on the bacon and sausage, its not too bad. Last weekeng I splurged a little and had a pork chop with sunny side up eggs with fresh salsa for breakfast, I still kinda miss the bread and potatoes, but I am dropping weight and my cholesterol is down. I just made a gallon jar of pickled salmon and a gallon of sweet spicy pickled eggs and another of pickled sausage at least now I can snack on these.
I've been going to the same doctor for seventeen years, he wants me to get down to the weight I was at in the army, I new I shoulda got a new doctor when they made me retire, you can't lie to one that has records going back that far.
