visited my local salvage yard today trying to scavenge a few more goodies plastic insert for door panel, chrome hood lip corners, etc... trudged through the mud up to my ankles... found the old blue 72 I'd robbed before and someone had beat it all to hell, by the way it has one good grill part(driver side) if anyone's looking..
Anyway it didn't yield anything... but later I stumbled onto another 72 , a new addition to the yard, light green with a primered bed , beat up bad.. but wait... a complete virtually pristine front windshield chrome moulding.. ooooh. I've got a 70 F100 with rear window chrome, cab gutter chrome, the chrome shields over the windows, everything but the front window, while I was having it painted I even ordered the front windshield seal that takes chrome thinking I'd order the chrome later. then realized I couldn't find that moulding anywhere.... so when they put the window in I just went back with regular seal... and then today jackpot... and the kicker is... the guy only wanted $25 for the complete set. cash of course. haha. I then stopped by the glass place to show the guy and he's gonna charge me $65 to do the install. days like today are what makes this so fun...
by the way, now that I've been looking through cats, that grill part I mentioned earlier is for a '71, driver's side. and the light green truck had good interior door panels , armrests, and seat.. and decent looking hood side emblems, and original radio - minus the *****.
had the window done today, they had to struggle a little to get all the chrome in the seal right, once they did they taped it down and eased in place , lucky , the install worked the first time, the front chrome window moulding really finishes the look.
