I have a 2006 f350 lifted 10.5 and the shop that lifted the truck has tried every possible shim position to get the carrier bearing angle right. And with know luck whatsoever. What is the best solution. It also vibrates going down the road too a little. I was wanting to know anybody else have that problem. And what shim is the best shim or whatever. thanks for all input.....
You mite have to have you'er drive shaft made longer I also heard one piece shat mite be the way to go the angle of the dangle is not so steep and you mite get the front one looked at also from a drive shaft shop not by some shade tree mechanic.
Good Luck

Yes the shop that done my lift is a pretty good 4x4 store do alot of work and good work this is my second truck like this the last one only had 8 inch lift though. And I have talked to on drive shaft sho and the manager did not sound to promising.. He could not warranty or promise it would get rid of all the vibration . Both diveshaft shops told me they would not go over 70 inches
Most trucks lifted up to 6 inches can use the original driveshaft and shim to cure shudder. Go to an 8 inch lift and the chances you can keep your original driveshaft diminish quite a bit. There are some who are successful, and many that aren't. I haven't seen a truck over 8 inches that kept the original driveshaft. There may be one out there, but I yet to see it.
Ford dealership up here did a high lift on a 350 CC here and had to change the angle of the diff, carrier bearing and the transfer case. I can't remember if they shimmed the mounts for the transfer case or changed them.
