You have the prop valve correct, it is for the rear brakes. The confusion may be due to the front reservoir being for the rear brakes the rear reservoir for the front...just guessing there though.

so is the front area always going to be for the rear brakes regardless of the size of the front reservoir?

This might be a little late. You changed you cloumun and messed with your linkage rods , did you at any point mess with your clutch rod adjustment or any other component that pertains to your clutch? If your clutch does not enagage all the way, that would make it a little difficult to shift. Perhaps your through out bearing is wearing.

i haven't done anything with the clutch, it seems like the trans mission is loading up when it shouldn't.

Always is a strong word. But I would say in most cases, yes. And with almost certainty all Ford units would be.
