I'm looking for a good place to lift the entire front end of my truck with. The frame crossmember directly in front of the I beams looks like it might work, but it's not the biggest surface for the saddle of my jack. I'm worried about slippage.
I can't get my floor jack close enough to the wheels to get under the nub thingy at the ends of the I beams to do each side, so I've been using my bottle jack so far. So much slower than the big floor jack.
Drive your front tires on top of a set of 2" x 6" to 2" x 10" blocks prior to lifting, then you can get the floor jack under the I-beams / radius arms.
i put the teeth of the jack cup right under the lip of the crossmeber the I beams bolt to, as far as i can go without tought the ibeams themselves. I havent had problms with it. I also put the floor jack right under the bolt where the radius arm bolts to the ibeam, that works great too.
